David Samudio is a long time Chula Vista resident of 38 years. He has been married to his wife, Irma, for 45 yrs. Together they have three sons, David Jr., Gerry, and Aaron.
Cancer has had an enormous impact on his life and his family. His father in-law passed from cancer as well as his own father, from prostate cancer. It was a year after his father’s death that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
His organization, Prostate Cancer Awareness for Life, is composed of all volunteers. They are out there in the community to provide education and awareness about prostate cancer. They partner with community health organizations and support advocacy and research through the national prostate cancer foundations.
They have many events throughout the year: Dance for Life, TWITCH Music Charity Event for Prostate Cancer, and PCA for Life Charity Golf Event.
Additionally, they formed a coalition of nonprofits here in the South Bay, named the South Bay Nonprofits Coalition. The nonprofit organization members help with breast cancer, stroke victims, leukemia, Alzheimer's, cancer, community, and those in need.
